Integrating EDI into your NSERC Discovery Grant Application two-part workshop series.
- Objective: This series is designed to help researchers integrate equity, diversity and inclusion EDI principles and strategies into their NSERC Discovery Grant (DG) application in meaningful ways.
- Dates:
- Session 1: Wed, July 19 from 12:30-1:30
- Session 2: Wed, August 23 from 12:30-1:30
- Spots: 20 seats are available.
- Priority:
- Early career researchers applying for a NSERC DG this year
- Researchers applying for a NSERC DG this year
- All other researchers
- Requirements:
- Prep work for both sessions is required.
- Session 1:
- Read: EDI in an NSERC Discovery Grant Application: Frequently Asked Questions
- Read:
- Google: Your field/discipline and the word "equity", explore and note the results
- Session 2:
- Draft version of the Highly qualified personnel (HQP) training plan and methodology section of proposal
- Review the references used in your application: are they diverse?
- Session 1:
- A commitment to attend both sessions is required.
- Both sessions will be in-person. Accommodations are available for those who require them.
- Researchers will be working together on parts of their grants, so be prepared to share your work. Confidentiality expectations will be outlined for the entire group.
- Prep work for both sessions is required.
Your spot in the workshop series will be confirmed by the Research Office after the registration deadline (Wed July 5).
